After an unforgettable journey to Central America we came back to England to visit our family and sort our home. We came back for 6 months of the year. Soon we will be off again for another 5 or 6 months. Before we go I need to tell you the things me and my family have been doing this year in the UK.

For my 12th birthday (which is the 29th of may) I invited my cousin (Saul) to come to a place called Brockholes Reserve which was quite near. Me and my family went here a few days ago to see what it was like. It is a nature reserve,with woods and lodges full of birds. These are some of my best pictures;

So on my birthday my parents dropped both of us off at the reserve. Very soon us and a dozen other children were in the woods with two volunteers. They split us up into two groups and each group had to make a den out of hay (which was provided) and of course,sticks.

Once both teams had finished building we went back to the main building and started to make these paint balls for a game in the woods. All we had to do is mix flour and paint and once it was mixed it was ready to throw.

We also made a simple flag for the game.

Once each team was ready we walked back to the woods where our dens were. Each team hid the flag somewhere near the den and each team was allowed two people to protect the flag from the other team. The rest of the team had to try and capture the other teams flag. And the paint balls that we had made was to throw at the other teams payers. If you hit them 3 times they had to go back to their den. We also wore bin bags to cover our clothes.

We did a few games of “capture the flag” and after that it was time to go home.
